Word Gate

Answer-first guide

How do I make an app blocker harder to bypass?

Do not rely on a one-tap dismissal. Use a blocker that requires active proof, such as answering a prompt, before the app unlocks.

Avoid fake friction

If the user can dismiss the blocker with one tap or one swipe, the blocker may become another automatic gesture. Real friction requires a small task that cannot be completed without attention.

Use fair friction

The blocker should not feel like punishment. Word Gate uses short vocabulary prompts so the friction produces something useful.

Keep an escape path for learning

If the user does not know the answer, they should be able to learn it and then verify understanding. That prevents the blocker from becoming a dead end.
